Make America Violent Again: An Analysis of Donald Trump's Twitter Rhetoric (Undergraduate Thesis)

Inspired by George Orwell's essay, 'Politics and the English Language', my senior journalism capstone investigated Donald Trump's unprecedented Twitter use during the 2016 Presidential Elections. I scraped Trump's Twitter to retrieve 3,3K+ tweets between January 2016 and November 2016 and ran various analyses to identify linguistic trends, particularly, how his rudimentary understanding of the English language coupled by his exploitation of the reach and velocity of the platform became a tactic to undermine and delegitimise any opposition. To read the results and findings, you can download my capstone here.
